I create paintings of places that, in some way, make an impression on me. Some are places I have glimpsed once and was fortunate enough to capture the time and place with photographs or sketches. Some are places I have become familiar with over the years. I keep my camera and sketch book close by and am always looking for the lighting, people, buildings, or landscapes that might inspire me to create a painting. I use oil paint on canvas or wood panels.
