I am an award-winning graphic designer, published author/illustrator and fine artist. This site is dedicated to displaying and promoting my fine art and my children’s picture book illustrations.
The paintings are created in traditional mediums. I find it difficult to say anything about why I paint. I have been doing it for a long time, if I stop for any period of time, life feels out of balance.
My children’s illustrations are typically created in digital media. I try to infuse the humor I find in everyday life into my illustrations.
Wether digital or traditional, the media matters little. The same principles apply; its all about drawing, color, value and edges.
I graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in 1982 and studied at the Art Students League of Denver (off and on) from 1989 to 2003.
I am an active member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Yes, I was transplanted to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 2003. Aside from the bugs and humidity, it’s not a bad place to call home.
I am married to Penny, the most wonderful woman in the world, and we have two terrific (goofy) daughters.
